OCTOBER

In October, we both started out jobless....but that quickly changed! I was offered a position as a District Manager and Small Business Specialist with:

I sell payroll, HR services, worker's compensation, benefit packages, and other similar services to small businesses throughout the Gilbert/Queen Creek/Casa Grande/Maricopa area. The products aren't very exciting, but any business under 50 employees is a potential candidate, so some days I'm working with doctors offices and plumbers, the next I'm working with retail stores and restaurants - each day is different! So far, the job has been great!

A few weeks after that, Anthony landed an Account Executive position with:

He already has so much experience with the telecommunications industry, and now he's selling a cutting edge product to small and larger businesses consisting of VoIP technology! The company is quickly growing, and he is definitely enjoying this new adventure, although there is a lot to learn!

Although the month consisted of a lot of hard work (new jobs are always like that), we did find some time to break away with our friends and steal a few of our favorite kids to go to Schnepf Farms. I had never been there, but I'd heard about it several times. I don't know how much fun it would have been if we didn't have little kids with us, but we did have a great time.

By the end of the night we were so tired! And yet, I had my camera, so we started just taking a few random pictures, since the kids weren't ready to leave yet...

Yeah, we're that hot!

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER

November and December were both filled with a lot of long working hours, plus the project of our NEW HOUSE!

Pictures of the house will come soon!

Random Act of Kindness

Tonight I was the victim of a random act of kindness. It really was completely random - no point at all to it, just someone being very nice!

I was on my way driving to San Diego for work, and decided to stop for dinner in Yuma. I was craving breadsticks and alfredo sauce, and since there really aren't many nice places to eat in Yuma, Olive Garden it was!

When I finished the delightful meal, my waitress brought me my Andes mints (the best part!) and said that I didn't need to pay, someone had already picked up my check! I asked her about it, and whoever it was had already left. It wasn't some guy trying to pick up on me, and she wouldn't say anything about who it really was. Someone had just seen that I was eating dinner all by myself and decided to pay for my meal for me. And that was that. I was completely blown away! They didn't want anything in return, they didn't try to talk to me or do anything. And I was dressed in business apparel, so I didn't look like a homeless girl trying to bum a meal. They just wanted to do something nice. It felt really great for me, so I hope they feel good as well.

And since I didn't have the opportunity to thank them for that wonderful bit of generosity, I'm going to try to find a way to pass it on to someone else this week. I don't know what I'll do exactly, but it feels right to give the gift to someone else now. Someone proved to me today that there still are great people out there who don't need a reason to help others. And I want to do that for someone else.

There are many reasons I love my husband...

One of them is the fact that he can be a total "manly man" most of the time (sports, cars, body noises), but he's not afraid to do girly stuff with me, like watching chick flicks or getting a pedicure (don't tell him I said that online!) Yesterday he even helped me color my hair! He told me he had done this plenty of times and that he was practically a professional, although afterwards he changed his story a bit ("No, I said my mom made me help her with it, and I've never done long hair before!") Anyway, here are some pictures from our little adventure!

Here's my sexy stylist prepping my hair!

The artist is very meticulous with his work

Putting on the finishing touches!

And now the waiting game...I got a little messy...not my fault, I promise!

This is my "I'm really frustrated because I think I just dyed my hair way to dark" look

But in the end, it looks just fine!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary! I can't believe it! It definitely doesn't seem like it has been a year already, but it really was a good year. There were ups and downs, for sure, but overall, I wouldnt' be anywhere else.

Even though we're a little low on cash right now (like every other newlywed couple...wait, can I still say newlywed?!?!?), Anthony saved up to take me to my absolute favorite restaurant: Mortons!

They were absolutely wonderful with everything for our special occasion. They prepared special menus just for our anniversary! We ordered the special: I had a petite filet and shrimp alexander (sooooo good!) and Anthony had a full filet and crab cakes and then we shared the steamed asparagus and mashed potatos. And if we weren't full with that, they gave us TWO hot chocolate cakes (my favorite thing in the whole world!) for desert!

And they took a picture and gave it to us in a special little frame!

Every single waitress or waiter or anybody working in the restaurant knew that it was our anniversary, so everyone kept coming by to congratulate us. It was just amazing, and proved to me how much I really love this place!
